Fortunately at Bob's we come across special Vintage and Classic bikes that we get to offer to new care takes or owners. For the purposes of this web page we are calling 1970 - 1995 bikes Classic and pre-1969 bikes Vintage. These bikes are offered in a varied state from full restorations to completely original and everything in between. Due to the nature and age of these bikes they are not offered with a warranty. We at Bob's go though the bikes reviewing them for mechanical and cosmetic condition. Often customers want full detailed histories of bikes and is not always possible but we fully disclose everything we know. What you see on this web page is what we have in inventory. There is a field to click on for special requests and we do keep an eye out for bikes all the time. If you are contacting us from out of State we can prepare a bike for shipping but you must arrange the shipping which can range from $150 for a local delivery to $600-900 for a cross country delivery. On occasion you may see the price listed as INQUIRE, this generally indicates we are still either reviewing or working on the bike and the final price has not been set. When inquiring about a bike please let us know your needs and we can discuss them in greater detail when we call you back. Please email us HERE or call us at 1.888.BMW.BOBS.
Remember when the market adjusted on a bike or car you really wanted and you didn't pull the trigger? I know you do because I remember every time, every bike, and every car I missed. Do not miss these bikes. R69Ss were $20K bikes just a few years ago and these are wonderful examples. With some other recent vintage and classic acquisitions we have been able to do some cost averaging of our vintage bikes and offer a few of them at significantly adjusted prices.
Act fast and do not let one of these get away!!
1975 BMW R90/6 Metallic Monza Blue • 29,000+/-* stock number 4961891 $4,795
This is a really solid bike that should be ridden every day. We just bought this from a customer and went through it including rebuilding the tach, did a carb sync and checked timing, replaced a few misc boots and hardware, installed a new battery, and repainted the side covers and installed the correct decals. This has some minor cosmetic items including some regular usage scratches on the tank, front fender, some paint flaked off the bottom corner of the rear fender and the chrome plastic trim that surrounds the bottom of the seat is broken at the rear of the seat. The tool tray is in place, with fresh gasket, and there is a tool bag and partially incomplete tool kit. It does have new BMW hand grips and recent/fresh peg rubbers along with a rare and NLA original key with the circular black plastic head. The fuel lines are the updated clear lines. *The odometer was repaired and the mileaged is estimated but reads 28,644. This is the second generation of the modern airhead featuring a new for ’75 drilled front disc brake, rear drum brake, and updated 5 speed ‘box along with shaft drive. It slotted just below the R90/S, which it outsold, and just above the R75 & R60/60 and was capable of 0-60 in 5.2 seconds. This would be a great bike to ride, have a vintage look, but still have modern features like a 900cc motor and a disc brake. It looks good and you won’t have to worry about scratching it. Hepco Becker side cases and mounts are still available at Bob’s to complete this bike.
1985 BMW R80 Vesco Black w/ Red/Wht pin stripes • 26,428 miles* stock number 480408 $6,895
Recently traded in on an RT this is a wonderful bike in a classic configuration. This R80s’ most compelling feature is it’s Vesco Rapid Transit fairing described by many, including Bob himself, as one of the nicest combinations ever offered. It also features BMW Touring bags and low handle bars. We just completely went through this bike and it received a new flywheel, Bendix starter gear, push rod seals, new clutch, rear main seal, transmission seals, rebuilt final drive (taper roller bearing, f/d bearing, & cardin seal), new s/s front brake lines, all fluids changed including fork oil, new tires, new front master cylinder, new right side valve cover (scratched) and tach needle. We spent about $4000 going through this bike and it has passed MD State Inspection. Now that’s a thorough going through with no corners cut. There is a shallow indentation in the left side of the tank at the rear where your knee would rest, it’ hard to notice but definitely there and no paint damage at all. Only about 13,816 of these 50hp 798cc boxer twins were produced between 1985-95 and this is a clean one. 1985 represented a big update for the R80 including a modified monolever rear swing arm, new front forks and wheels and a revision of the exhaust. This bike has incredible period looks, a sought after fairing (were not know to crack of come apart like others of the period), dual front disc brakes (drum rear), modern performance, and is fully sorted. While these are classic machines and cannot be sold with any warranty you can buy with confidence at Bob’s and know it was gone through by the best. Act fast!
*shows 7,505 but actual and original miles are 26,428
1981 BMW R80GS White w/ Motorsports Stripes • 8,540 miles stock number 362120 $10,995
A survivor GS and the progenitor of the GS line and adventure touring. It’s bike #120 making it the 119th production R80GS out of a production run of about 1,349 from 1981 – 86. This is an early production bike. Bob has been after the owner of this bike for years to acquire it for the museum, not because it’s perfect but because it’s so original and such a good representation of the model. The cosmetics are all original with some age appropriate patina including a mild crease in the left side of the tank where the knee would rest. The rims and spokes are in excellent original condition, the “lobster” seat is original and it includes the near unobtainable original BMW factory rag and the complete original tool kit. It also many BMW optional accessories including the side stand and engine bar combination, locking gas cap with key, volt meter and tach gauges, and very rare ’81 Paris Dakar Winner decals on both side panels. An aftermarket tall wind screen is available. This first year R80GS has been well tended during its’ life including new Keihan s/s pipes and headers, recent and correct tires, and 1,500 miles ago it received a fresh clutch, rear main seal, splines lubed, gearbox reseal, new ignition coil and switch, spark plug wires, along with a corresponding fluids. It’s been 30 years since BMW Motorrad founded the segment of large touring endure motorcycles with the launch of this bike. Featuring the world’s first single swing-arm rear suspension, the G/S, (“G” = Gelande, terrain and “S” = Strasse, road), earned victories in the Paris – Dakar races of the 80’s under Hubert Auriol and Gaston Rahier, and quickly became the mount of choice for world adventure riders like Dr. Gregory Frazier (his personal GS is currently displayed in Bob’s showrrom), Helge Pederson and even film star Ewan McGregor. Act quickly and be the next caretaker for an excellent example of one of the few truly iconic motorcycles ever made.

1966 BMW R60/2 – R75/5 Conversion Black • w/ Pin 150 miles* stock number 628682 $14,495
Ever wanted a period Hot Rod? Well Mike Richards did in about 1975-77 and went about taking a 1966 R60/2 and a ’74-’76 R75/6 motor (#4940206) to create what was then the ultimate hot rod. The /2 was one of the all time great motorcycle chassis with its’ Earles Fork front end and timeless vintage looks and the /6 motor was the second generation of BMW’s first modern era big motor featuring 12V electrics and many updates from the first gen motor. The bike features an original narrow dual Schorsch Meier saddle (with refreshed padding), side car lugs, and side stand. This bike received all the hot conversion bits like R68 bar risers, Euro side car bars (low and wide), bar end turn signals, a /5 headlight bucket and speedo, 6.25 gallon sport tank (knee pads never installed), high shoulder aluminum rims with s/s nipple and spokes, stainless steel Epco headers and exhaust to go along with its’ 20hp bump - a standard R60/2 made 30hp and a 75/6 made 50hp. In about 2002 this bike was acquired by its’ second owner and great friend of the shop at which point it was completely rebuilt, repainted and gone through to a high standard. The wheels were rebuilt, the motor and gear box were gone through, many NOS parts were used including controls and switches, all new rubber, cables, and stainless steel hardware was installed, and the gauges were rebuilt (odo set to “0”). It doesn’t have any needs but a few wants could include refreshing the front suspension if you are 200lbs+ and intend to ride it hard, and we always have some fun period dress up bits or accessories. I’ve ridden this bike and it is very comfortable on the interstate and capable of setting the pace without working too hard if needed. It really loves running around the countryside or even bombing through the City when the need arises. 4th gear is a real cruising gear but 2nd and 3rd is where the work is done and the fun is had. This is truly a period correct hot rod in outstanding condition with all the right kit. We recently built one of these for a good customer at a cost of over $25,000. As we all know, it’s always cheaper to buy a finished project that’s properly sorted. We’ve known this bike for about 35 years and this is a unique opportunity to acquire a special piece of BMW motorcycle history at a fraction of its’ build price.

Here is a really nice two-owner matching numbers R69S featuring all the right kit. First an R69S was the Hot Rod of the line up featuring BMW's 590cc boxer twin making 42hp compared to the 30hp of a standard R60/2 which BMW accomplished with a higher compression ration (9.5:1 vs. 7.5:1), dual 26mm Bing cars (vs. 24mm), higher spec pistons, bigger valves and a crank balancer. 1964 BMW R69S Black • 600 miles* stock number 658818 INQUIRE *Only 11,317 R69S's were produced between 1960-1969.
Less than 600 miles since a Bob's BMW "money is no object" restoration done with a lot of NOS parts. This might be the nicest restored R69S in the US. It was traded in by a very good and regular customer on a new and very rare R1200S HP2 Sport. There is also a glass obelisk available that has the VIN and model designation that was used to present the bike when BMW Mobile Tradition borrowed it for display. This is a special bike in the large tank, solo seat, low bar configuration. Details to follow.
Dear Ashton,
I thought I'd take a minute and thank you and everyone involved for handling the transaction so efficiently and professionally. Over the course of my life I've dealt with many people in the motorcycle sales/service industry, and Bob's BMW is definitely above them all.
I hated to sell that bike, but I know you'll find it a good home. Best for a successful riding season.
Yours truly,
Steve Rouzer

1962 BMW R69S Rennsport/Cafe stock number 811333 INQUIRE
A Perry Bushong Rennsport replika based on a 1962 R69S evocative of the 1954 race bike built very limited numbers for racing. In their day they were 500cc motors with an Earles fork front end. The earlier bikes were very successful and were supercharged. Less competitive when the superchargers were banned the boxers, with their low end torque, turned out to be ideal for sidecar racing. BMW won almost all of the first ten places in the world championships in the sidecar class from 1959 to 1972. This bike is 1 of 1 built in a series of 11 replikas built, no two were identical. This replika is full of goodies, was owned by two very good Bob's customer's and recently acquired by Bob. Bob has not yet decided if it is for sale but inquiries and offers will be considered. The bike can be seen by appointment.
Incredible One-of-a-Kind BMW-EML Sidecar Rig Silver • 25,849 miles stock number 040638 INQUIRE
Built between 1987 and 1990 by the amazingly talented Al Vangura from Pittsburgh, this is truly a custom engineered and exciting three-wheeler. It still competes with the most exotic and expensive rigs from EML and Armec available today; if not out performing them in some ways.
More than 4000 hours of thought, engineering, prototyping, fabrication and testing went into this outfit over the four year period it took to bring this dream to the street.
This was Bob’s personal/family rig for 15 years. His son practically grew up in it! More>>
1969 R69S with Ural Sidecar Black Auction for PBTF *Only 11,317 R69S's were produced between 1960-1969.
On Saturday November 14th starting at 7pm this bike will be auctioned with the proceeds going to the Ride for Kids and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. We estimate the market value of this bike and sidecar together to be $22,500 in today's market. The reserve is well below the the market value of the bike alone (without sidecar) which we estimate to be in the $17,000 - $18,000 range. Bidding will start at $10,000. This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity made possible through Bob's efforts and a very generous Bob's customer who purchased the rig here a few years ago and donated it for the benefit of RFK & PBTF. Is this all we have to offer? OF COURSE
NOT! Bob's has always been known for keeping one of the largest inventories
of new and used BMW's on hand 12 months a year. Because we sell
so many bikes (1 customer at a time) we simply choose not to
show you a photo (or line listing) of every bike available and
clog up the site. But rest assured we have the new or used bike
(and plenty of non BMW's) you desire available, and if we don't
have it right now it's probably on a truck or in a ship heading
here so it will be ready for you very soon.
Please Note: The mileage listed on each motorcycle is the mileage at time of intake. Bob's offers a demo ride program on almost all used bikes in inventory so mileage will vary at time of sale. Sometime the mileage can be 100's of miles different and while we endeavor to list accurate mileage it is a guide for the approximate mileage on the bike. Actual mileage will be listed at the time of sale.
