BMW is Helping to Keep Our Military Personnel Safe
Announcing: The Superbike Safety Package – a $1,480 Value – FREE for Active Military Personnel!

We all know that people in active military service face many dangers. But while the risks inherent in living, working and fighting in a war zone are one thing, it’s quite another when these service personnel, mostly young men, return to the States after a deployment and pick up a fast motorcycle to ride. Of course the attraction to motorcycling is natural, not only because motorcycles are an affordable way to get around, but also because they’re a good form of stress relief – motorized therapy.

The problem is that the survival skills and styles of risk management that work best patrolling the mean streets of, say, Kandahar are hardly the best ones for surviving the main streets of America’s cities on a high performance motorcycle. The accident statistics for military personnel on super sport bikes are alarming and have attracted widespread adverse publicity for the US armed forces and the motorcycle industry in general. It was time for someone to step forward with a positive way to help combat the problem.

BMW Motorrad USA is delighted to launch a program that will attract members our military to the safest superbike on the road today, the S 1000 RR - with Race ABS & DTC (Dynamic Traction Control). The new technology used on the S 1000 RR has earned rave reviews from every sector for its ability to help riders of every skill level control their bikes to a degree never before thought possible.

The Race ABS & DTC safety package is an option that normally costs $1,480. But from now till December 31st, 2010, eligible, active US military personnel* can include this option in the purchase of their new S 1000 RR at NO ADDITIONAL COST!**

–May 18, 2010
BMW has unveiled a special edition GS range to celebrate 30 years of the company's iconic adventure sports machines.

It has been 30 years since BMW Motorrad founded the segment of large touring enduro motorcycles with the launch of the BMW R 80 G/S. Featuring the world’s first single swing-arm rear suspension, the G/S -- the “G” stands for “Gelände” (terrain), and the “S” stands for “Strasse” (road) – earned victories in the Paris-Dakar races of the 1980’s under Hubert Auriol and Gaston Rahier, and quickly became the mount of choice for world adventure riders like Dr. Gregory Frazier, Helge Pedersen and film star Ewan McGregor.

This year, in celebration of this important anniversary and industry milestone, we will offer three Special Edition GS models: the BMW F 800 GS, the BMW R 1200 GS and the R 1200 GS Adventure. Some other markets will also offer a G 650 GS Special Edition model, but it will not be offered it in the US.

Introducing the new DOHC Boxer engine configuration for the 2010 R 1200 GS,
R 1200 GS Adventure and the R 1200 RT!
The new DOHC cylinder heads are designed and built for even higher engine speeds. They are not only more powerful than the previous generation but they are more efficient too. This new Boxer engine, like the engine featured on the race-proven BMW HP2 Sport, is equipped with two overhead chain-driven camshafts (DOHC) per cylinder. Radial arrangement of the four valves allows for a very compact combustion chamber configuration, and like that of the previous generation, the fuel/air mixture is ignited by two spark plugs. Valves are operated by very light rocker arms able to cope easily with higher engine speeds.

Bob's BMW
Trade-In Bonus!

Maryland sales tax just went up to 6%. But now thanks to another new law, when you make a trade-in your tax liability actually goes DOWN! Yes, the trade-in bonus is much BIGGER than the tax hike!

Here's an example of how it works:
Let's say you purchased a $20,000 motorcycle and you had an $8,000 trade-in, so your balance is $12,000. Last year you would have paid 5% on the total $20,000, or $1000 in taxes.

This year, because you'll be taxed at 6% on just the $12,000, you'll pay only $720 in taxes!

So if you're craving that new motorcycle smell, now is the best time to take advantage of this special tax incentive. Stop by and see our huge selection of NEW and USED bikes!
